It's been a wonderful first week of April! Kicked it off with lots of family time on Easter Sunday, spent good time with friends during the week, and have dinner and hang out plans coming up this weekend with friends who are in town. Happy spring!
This week I am reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I think I'm probably the last millennial white woman to read this book, but I finally got around to it and am enjoying it. I haven't been spoiled by anything over the past few years, but I'm still not surprised by anything in the book. It's been interesting, but I probably won't bother reading the sequels.
My mom and I went to see The Color Purple at DPAC last night as a part of our seasons ticket package. I obviously have heard of the book, movie, and show, but I really didn't know anything about the plot of it. I really enjoyed the show, and the woman who played the lead, Cecile, was fantastic. The show stopping song, "I'm Here," made me cry. It's definitely one of the best shows of the season.
I've been catching up on the podcast Awesome Etiquette this week. It's from the Emily Post Institute and is presented by two cousins who are descendants of Emily herself. They answer about 3 etiquette questions per episode and tell a few stories, so it's a nice podcast to line up and listen to a few in a row while I'm cooking or driving. I love advice podcasts and columns, so this is a fun one for me to listen to.
Sweets, soda, and french fries are BACK, baby!
Liverpool winning at home in the Champions League, painting pianos at work, getting back into the swing of things at Orangetheory, my first Good Friday and Easter Vigil services at Chapel of the Cross, group dinner at Chili's.
