Of Note — November 30
Big news of earlier this week — I bought a car. My new ride is a 2016 Mazda CX-5 with 38,000 miles on it and heated seats. I am already obsessed and just want to ride around in her forever. Clearly I need to take a road trip soon. In big upcoming news — I have a very exciting weekend ahead! One of my best and oldest friends, Brooke, is getting married this weekend! I can’t wait to kick off the festivities and celebrate her and her soon-to-be husband, Andrew. I love her whole family (her twin sister Megan is also one of my best friends) and they know how to plan a good party, so it’s going to be an awesome time I’m sure. Cheers to the Chambers!
I finished All We Ever Wanted on Monday night (staying up way too late when I had already missed the window to cancel my workout class the next morning). I think I’ve come to realize that I’m very critical of the end of books. I can like (love) an entire book and still be disappointed in the ending. That’s what happened here. All We Ever Wanted has an interesting premise and some intriguing characters, but it wraps up WAY too quickly in a way that left me very unsatisfied.
I’m slowly but surely making progress on #46 on my 101 things list — watch Parks & Recreation from start to finish. I’ve seen a lot of episodes completely out of order, and it’s one of those shows that is so completely meant for me that it’s embarrassing that I haven’t seen it all. I’m almost through season 2 and loving rewatching bits I’ve seen and discovering so much new hilarity.
I have Bluetooth in my car now!! It’s amazing! An aux cord, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. It’s draining my battery, but I swear I’ve never been happier. I keep calling people while I’m in my car just because I can.
We hosted a lovely Friendsgiving at our apartment on Sunday night — chicken (rotisserie picked up from Harris Teeter; we can’t be bothered to roast a turkey), mashed potatoes, charcuterie, the most delicious quinoa salad you’ve ever had. There were about a dozen people over, and it was such a nice chance to relax and hang out and introduce pals who weren’t acquainted.
My new car, my new car’s seat warmers, my new car’s giant trunk, chickadee Christmas ornaments, winter sunsets, thermal patterned pajamas, Hamilton spin playlists, decorating the apartment for Christmas, setting up the Google Mini to turn the Christmas tree on and off.
