Hi, I'm Morgan.

"Cheers, Morgan" is how I sign my emails, and the upbeat attitude I try to bring to every aspect of life. Read on for thoughts on books, fitness, travel, approaching my mid-twenties, and everything in between.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2019! 2018 was honestly not the most thrilling year (no moving, no job changes, not as much travel in the past), so I am really looking forward to the year ahead and the excitement it may bring. For 2019 I am choosing to make a handful of resolutions (or goals, whichever you prefer) and set one intention.

Resolutions

1. Read 40 books
Last year my goal was 20, so I thought about making this year’s goal 25 or 30. But I figured that would be a chump move when it turns out my total for 2018 was 36! So 40 it is! My best friend is also doing 40, so we’ll be holding each other accountable (and probably reading her favorite series together at some point).

2. Exercise 220 times
I always love to make ~moving my body~ part of my New Years resolutions (and part of my daily life). Sometimes it’s kind of vague, but I definitely am more successful with my resolutions when they’re quantifiable goals that I can track. So here we are! 220 times — 20 more than the 200 I worked for in 2016, and a few less than the 250 I wanted but I thought might kill me.

3. Journal once a week
I have a journal that I love, but I rarely write in it. I’ve loved revisiting entries from the past year (even when I’m being wildly melodramatic), so I’m going to commit to writing more. It helps me process things, celebrate events, and have writing to enjoy down the line.

Intention

My intention for the year is ripped directly from Meghan Markle’s blog post for the new year in 2016 (about six months before she met Prince Harry). It’s beautifully written and inspirational and what I would love to incorporate in my life.

For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher… My New Year’s resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change. To let the magic know that there is an open-door policy with me and that it is always welcome to join the party.

The woman LITERALLY MANIFESTED A PRINCE INTO HER LIFE! Get it girl. Let’s see what the magic will bring to me in 2019.
