I watched beautiful sunsets, saw an alligator, came back from Florida, my brother got a dog, Liverpool is heading to the Champions League final, I’ve gotten like 8 hours of sleep every night. So much happening! Happy Friday!
I finished Crown of Midnight by the pool last week, and I’ve started on Heir of Fire (the third Throne of Glass book). I’m also reading Hunger by Roxane Gay, which is for my work book club. Very different, both excellent so far! I only have three books left to read before I get to my 50 new books on my 101 things list. It’s wild.
On Tuesday, Liverpool Football Club defeated FC Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal. They had lost 3-0 in Barcelona in the first match, and they came back to Liverpool to play the second at Anfield. It was going to be a tough game. Even if they won (which definitely was possible), they had to win 3-0 in order to get to extra time and 4-0 to win outright — against Barca and Lionel Messi, the best player in the world, and without two of our top three scorers. Tough ask!! And do you know what the final score was? IT WAS 4-0!!!!!! It was surprising and beautiful and one of my top moments as a sports fan. The entire team put their arms around each other and sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to the fans. I wept (no kidding, check out this video of me crying in the office). It was a beautiful day to be a soccer fan.
SO 👏 MUCH 👏 LIZZO 👏 !!! I am seeing her in concert tonight, and I’m so excited. I know she’s going to be awesome!
I had ahi tuna over the weekend in Florida, and it reminded me how much I love ahi tuna.
